UKCS 2009. Views of Swansea

“not just a conference…”

INVITATION

On behalf of all of the Members of the Organising Committee, we extend a very warm invitation to all of our colleagues involved in Continence Care to join us in Swansea for UKCS 2009. We promise you a few days of excellent education and ... “not just a conference!

Swansea’s history covers shipbuilding in the 14th Century to delicate porcelain manufacturing, the harvesting of oysters from what were at one time the largest and most productive oyster beds in Europe; to the exploitation of copper and minerals in the area. Did you know that at one time Swansea was the most powerful seaport in the world?

Today, Swansea is a maritime city with a prestigious University and a popular bay-side Maritime Quarter. Here are the museums, theatres, art galleries, hotels, and restaurants enjoying a breathtaking view of the bay.

So, we promise you an interesting and perhaps a new experience in our lovely city. We have chosen the theme of “Broadening Horizons” for this Conference not only because it reminds us of our spectacular coastal location but also because we will be aiming to look at the broader perspectives of multidisciplinary collaborations within Continence Services as well as the bigger picture of motivational behaviour – both for patients and professionals– and also some of the “Cinderella” topics rarely addressed.

We want our programme to be

invigorating, relevant and useful, so we urge all professionals to submit abstracts and then come and meet, learn and network at UKCS 2009.

We are planning a fun social programme that will also add plenty of Welsh flavour to the Annual Scientific Meeting. See you in Swansea for “not just a conference”!
